'A New Way to do Business' Samsung Business Mobiles – Grapevine Telecom

Objective

To drive awareness of Samsung Mobile as a manufacturer of business handsets and tie sales of these handsets into Grapevine telecom.

Activity

Previously, Grapevine Telecom had predominantly sold Nokia handsets as this is what the sales team were used to offering and felt comfortable with. During a meeting between Grapevine Telecom and Data Select, it became apparent that there was a desire to increase their product portfolio to include other manufacturers besides Nokia. From looking at the Platinum Club roadmap, Grapevine discovered that there were a few Samsung handsets on the horizon, namely the i780 and i200. It was decided that we would run a promotion on these handsets as well as the Samsung Solid entitled 'A New Way to do Business'.

It was decided that there would need to be an educational piece on the Samsung products as the sales team and indeed the customers were not aware of the business capabilities of these devices. A training session was organised at Grapevine's Head office in which Samsung trained the sales team on the key USP's and business functions of the handsets. Following this, the sales team had increased their knowledge on a wider range of handsets and were more inclined to promote their business capabilities to their customers.

An event was then organised to promote the business capacity of Samsung handsets direct to Grapevine's current and prospective customers. The marketing team at Data Select created a direct mailer to be sent out via E-Shot and via post to the customers of Grapevine inviting to this event. They also created an advert to be placed in the local business papers and handouts to be used by the team at Grapevine during their sales meetings.

At the event Samsung had the opportunity to sell directly to the end user and influence them to purchase Samsung products via Grapevine Telecom. Following this event, another mailer was created by Data Select highlighting the business aspects of Samsung handsets and distributed in the same way as the previous invite.
